How should you begin?
Choose the required task, read the official eligibility conditions and check your account balance before increasing usage.
A free image-generation balance answers only part of a creator’s decision. You also need to know which tool consumes it, whether output is public, what the provider says about commercial use, and what permissions your inputs require. This guide compares official records reviewed on 7 October 2026. Publisher: SmartDealIndex. It is based on public documents, not completed signups or generated images. Use four separate questions
First ask what is provided: daily compute units, a one-time balance, free web access or a paid credit purchase. Next identify where it works: the creator app, an API, a particular model or a separate account organization. Then examine the output terms: public or private, ownership wording and commercial license. Finally inspect the input permissions and destination of the finished work.
These questions should remain separate in your notes. A positive answer about free access does not fill an unanswered commercial-rights field. A paid API wallet does not prove a free signup grant. A public gallery image is not automatically available for your own advertisement. Do not fill those gaps with another provider’s policy.
What the reviewed examples establish
| Provider and source | Verified access finding | Rights or scope finding |
|---|---|---|
| Recraft pricing | A Free creator plan exists; exact free credit quantity was not established | Free images are public, owned by Recraft and not commercially licensed |
| Krea pricing | Free lists 100 compute units per day, no card | App units are model-dependent; this extract did not establish the complete commercial-rights conditions |
| Dezgo SD1 tool | A specific free web SD1 text-to-image generator is available | No fixed quota, free API balance or commercial license was verified |
| ModelsLab pricing | The page explicitly says paid-only, with no free tier, credits or trial | Do not advertise a current free grant; premium third-party models require a separately funded wallet |
| Black Forest Labs billing | API usage requires purchased credits; no public signup grant was established | Purchased API access is a separate decision from creator free-plan offers |
The table reports the inspected scope. Unknown means this research did not establish the condition; it is not permission and it is not proof of prohibition. ModelsLab’s negative free-offer finding does not mean the company itself is closed.
Recraft shows why “free” is insufficient
The reviewed Recraft pricing material expressly distinguishes the Free creator plan’s public images and noncommercial status. A free output should therefore not be recommended for a client advertisement on the basis of credit availability alone. Confirm the applicable current plan and licensing terms before selecting output for a commercial deliverable.
The same reviewed source distinguishes creator access from purchased API units. It says those purchased units do not expire and are generally non-refundable except where law requires otherwise. That purchased-unit rule should not be presented as the expiry rule for an unverified free balance. It also does not convert the Free creator plan into a free API entitlement.
If privacy is important, inspect the actual plan and account settings before submitting sensitive material. The reviewed free-plan public-output statement is material to that choice. This guide does not certify that a particular paid plan or private setting meets your organization’s confidentiality requirements.
Krea units are not a universal image count
Krea’s Free pricing card lists 100 compute units per day. Different models can consume different quantities, so 100 units does not mean 100 images, 100 dollars or a universal API allowance. Confirm the selected tool’s consumption before estimating how many usable results a day might produce.
The captured pricing extraction mixed features across plan columns. It did not establish the complete rights and model-access conditions. A nearby commercial-use phrase without an unambiguous plan association is insufficient to promise commercial rights for every free output. Inspect the current plan-specific terms and retain the unresolved status until verified.
Keep the scope narrow for Dezgo
The verified Dezgo example concerns its web SD1 text-to-image tool. Other image or video models may be paid. The official FAQ and current tool are starting points for checking the actual mode before generating; no fixed recurring quota or general free API grant was established here.
A tutorial can truthfully describe where the free tool is available without asserting unlimited use or a commercial license. If you need a different model, API automation or customer-deliverable rights, verify each condition separately. Do not copy the free web label onto another paid feature.
Prepare a project record before generating
Write down the intended destination: personal experiment, internal design draft, paid client work, advertisement or reusable stock asset. Then record the provider, account plan, model, allowance, reset or expiry rule, privacy status, commercial-use statement and source date. Leave blank or unknown fields visible rather than completing them from memory.
For uploaded references, record their origin and your permission to process and publish them. Consider recognizable people, logos, music and third-party artwork separately. A provider’s output license does not clear rights you lacked in the input. The guide does not determine project-specific legal clearance.
Run a small experiment only after the required conditions are resolved. Keep the prompt, input identifiers and result version in your own records. If you later publish a demonstration, describe it as generated or illustrative where appropriate and report only observations you actually made. No images were generated for this article.
Handle unavailable offers honestly
Reviewed OpenArt help captures did not expose an answer establishing a usable free credit quantity or expiry. NightCafe’s help pages returned client-rendered shells without readable quota terms. Neither finding supports a current numerical signup reward. A service homepage, help-question heading or HTTP 200 response alone is insufficient evidence.
Avoid duplicate accounts, invented country details or attempts to evade quotas. Compare legitimate alternatives by the conditions they actually provide. The global program overview separates grants, trials and ordinary allowances; the Sync guide shows monthly video generations with their own limits.
Frequently asked questions
Do free credits automatically permit commercial use?
No. Usage allowance and commercial license are separate; Recraft’s reviewed Free plan expressly lacks commercial licensing.
Are Krea’s 100 daily units 100 images?
No universal conversion was established. Consumption depends on the selected model and tool.
Does free web access establish a free API balance?
No. The reviewed Recraft and Dezgo findings keep creator or web access separate from API billing.
What should I do when rights or expiry are unknown?
Check current plan-specific official terms and keep the field unresolved until supported. Do not promise a permission or renewal rule from missing evidence.
