How should you begin?
Choose the required task, read the official eligibility conditions and check your account balance before increasing usage.
E2B’s official pages, reviewed on 7 October 2026, describe US$100 in one-time Hobby usage credit and two separate application-reviewed programs advertising US$20,000 with Pro access. The startup and research programs have different eligibility. These balances pay for E2B sandbox compute, not an outside model provider’s tokens. Publisher: SmartDealIndex. This guide is based on public documents; no account, application or sandbox was created. Independent editorial review is pending. Links are ordinary official URLs.
Compare the three routes
| Route | Published benefit | Public conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Hobby on E2B | US$100 one-time usage credit; no card advertised | Twenty concurrent sandboxes; sessions up to one hour |
| Startup program | One-time US$20,000 and Pro tier | First-time users building AI agents; startup under three years old and raised under US$5 million |
| Research program | One-time US$20,000 and Pro tier | First-time users affiliated with a university, public research institute or research nonprofit, studying AI agents |
Choose the route matching your actual situation. Do not add every advertised balance into a guaranteed award. The larger programs require review; meeting published criteria does not establish that you have received the benefit. The no-card statement belongs to Hobby, not every possible grant or later billing arrangement.
Understand what consumes the balance
E2B provides isolated machines for agent tasks such as running code or processing data. Compute credit is a budget for that runtime. Your chosen language model, external storage or another paid API may have a separate bill. Keep those expenses separate when estimating whether an experiment fits the available support.
Concurrency describes how many sandboxes may run simultaneously, not how many free jobs you receive. A session-duration ceiling is another limit, not a promise that every job can run free for that duration. The larger program pages list one hundred concurrent sandboxes and sessions up to twenty-four hours. Do not transfer those limits to the Hobby plan or assume add-ons mentioned on the site are included.
Grant expiry, permitted credit allocation and complete account-country eligibility were not established by this review. Record these as pending rather than assigning a familiar twelve-month deadline from another provider.
Prepare before activating an offer
Define a small legitimate task: process a synthetic file, inspect a generated application in an isolated environment, or run your own research experiment. Decide what you need to observe and what would make the result unusable. This is a proposed workflow, not a performance result measured by SmartDealIndex.
Estimate the CPU, memory, number of simultaneous machines and expected session time. Start with the smallest useful workload and retain a way to stop unnecessary sessions. Keep your original inputs and important results outside the temporary environment according to your own storage process; no backup guarantee was checked here.
If you intend to apply for a first-time-user program, review that criterion before activating unrelated usage. Existing-account situations were not fully defined in the captured pages. Declare your real history and request clarification through the provider’s normal process if needed; do not create another identity to hide earlier use.
Follow the official route
- Open the current E2B homepage and compare its Hobby details with the appropriate program page.
- For ordinary experimentation, follow the homepage’s official signup route and confirm the actual balance and limits in your account.
- For a startup or research grant, use the application area on the corresponding official page. General signup and grant acceptance are separate events.
- Prepare truthful company age, funding, affiliation and project information relevant to your route. These are preparation suggestions, not a claim that every form field was inspected.
- Keep a copy of your submission if you apply yourself and wait for the provider’s decision. No application was submitted by SmartDealIndex.
- After approval, confirm the organization receiving credit, actual amount, Pro-access conditions, activation and expiry, eligible usage and billing behavior.
Authenticated forms, account-specific verification and an individual award remain unverified. A published application button establishes a route to investigate, not personal acceptance.
Prepare the correct evidence
For startups, use the real entity age and total funding, and explain the AI-agent work the infrastructure will support. Under three years and under US$5 million are the published conditions; do not silently replace them with inclusive boundaries. Extra credits mentioned for accelerator partners have no verified amount here.
For research, explain your current affiliation and agent-related project. The source lists universities, public institutes and research nonprofits. It does not establish that every charity or personal study qualifies. Keep any institutional approval and input permissions required by your own organization separate from the provider application.
Track the award after acceptance
Maintain a log of the confirmed balance, dates, workload configuration and observed consumption. Compare runtime spending with the expected task value, not simply the number of machines launched. Stop resources no longer needed and reassess before increasing concurrency.
Ask the account’s current billing terms what happens when credit ends. This research did not verify automatic charges, spending controls or a guaranteed free continuation of Pro access. One-time credit should not be described as renewed every month.
The Runware signup guide concerns model-testing credit, while the global overview distinguishes compute grants from other benefits.
Frequently asked questions
Is US$100 a recurring monthly allowance?
No. The reviewed Hobby offer calls it one-time usage credit.
Do startup and research applicants automatically get US$20,000?
No. They are separate reviewed programs with eligibility and provider acceptance requirements.
Does the credit pay for an external model API?
No such coverage was established. The benefit is E2B sandbox-compute credit.
When do the larger grants expire?
Grant expiry was not verified. Confirm the actual award terms before planning usage.
